CAYUGA FLORA (1926) NOTES: Muddy ditches and swamps, mostly in clayey and alluvial soils with no apparent relation to lime content ; frequent. July 20-Aug. Ithaca flats ; Forest Home ; and probably elsewhere. Que. and N. S. to B. C, southw. to N. Y., (Del.?), N. Dak., and Calif., including the Atlantic Coastal Plain. A recent study of a large quantity of material does not seem to support Brittons contention that the American and the European plants are specifically distinct. |
